Acceptable Use Policy

1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP” or “Policy”) governs your use of Sozee AI’s services, platform, and AI-powered tools (collectively, the “Services”) provided by Animus Technologies LLC (“Sozee AI”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). This Policy forms part of and is incorporated into our Terms of Service.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to comply with this Policy. Violation of this Policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, removal of content, and potential legal action.

2. Core Principles

Our Services are built on three fundamental principles:

  • 2.1 Consent: Every person whose likeness or voice is used must provide explicit, informed consent before their image, voice, or likeness can be replicated or synthesized.

  • 2.2 Control: Individuals maintain control over how their likeness is used, with the right to revoke permissions and request deletion.

  • 2.3 Collaboration: We work with users, industry partners, and regulators to ensure responsible use of AI technology.

3. General Requirements

You agree to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including intellectual property, privacy, data protection, and AI-specific legislation.

  • Obtain proper consent before creating or using any content featuring identifiable individuals.

  • Use the Services responsibly and ethically, considering the potential impact on individuals and society.

  • Report violations of this Policy when discovered.

  • Cooperate with investigations into potential misuse.

  • Maintain accurate account information and ensure authorized access only.

4. Prohibited Uses – Zero Tolerance

The following uses are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account termination:

  • 4.1 Non-Consensual Content

    • Creating deepfakes without explicit consent from the person being depicted.

    • Using someone’s likeness without authorization, including but not limited to: Celebrities, public figures, politicians, private individuals, or deceased persons (without estate/heir consent).

    • Voice cloning without permission from the voice owner.

    • Identity theft or impersonation for any purpose.

  • 4.2 Minor Safety

    • Any depiction of minors (under 18) in sexual, suggestive, violent, or harmful contexts.

    • Creating any AI-generated or modified content of minors without verified parental/guardian consent.

    • Content that could be used to exploit, groom, or harm minors.

  • 4.3 Harmful Deepfakes

    • Political disinformation or election manipulation.

    • Non-consensual intimate or sexual content of any person.

    • Harassment, blackmail, or extortion materials.

    • Content intended to damage reputation without factual basis.

    • Fraudulent representations for financial gain.

5. Prohibited Content Categories

You may not create, upload, or generate content that:

  • 5.1 Violates Rights

    • Infringes copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights.

    • Violates privacy or publicity rights.

    • Contains confidential or proprietary information without authorization.

    • Uses copyrighted music, images, or video without proper licensing.

  • 5.2 Causes Harm

    • Promotes violence, terrorism, or dangerous activities.

    • Contains hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.

    • Includes graphic violence, gore, or promotes self-harm.

    • Contains instructions for illegal activities.

  • 5.3 Misleading or Deceptive

    • Misinformation or disinformation about health, science, current events, or public safety.

    • Scams, fraud, phishing attempts, or false advertising.

    • Synthetic content presented as authentic without clear disclosure.

6. Consent Requirements

  • 6.1 Individual Consent

    Before creating any content featuring an identifiable person, you must:

    • Obtain written, explicit consent from the individual.

    • Ensure they understand how their likeness will be used.

    • Provide the ability to revoke consent at any time.

    • Maintain records of consent for verification.

  • 6.2 Celebrity and Public Figure Content

    • Commercial use is prohibited without a licensing agreement.

    • No defamatory or false representations are permitted.

    • Posthumous rights and estate controls must be respected.

    • 6.2.1 Parody and Commentary

      Limited use of a public figure’s likeness for parody, satire, or social commentary may be permitted without direct consent ONLY IF it meets the following strict criteria:

      • a. Transformative Use: The content must be highly transformative, creating a new work that comments on or critiques the original subject. It cannot simply be a recreation.

      • b. No Deception: A reasonable viewer must be able to recognize the content as parody and not mistake it for authentic footage. All such content must be clearly and conspicuously labeled as “Parody” or “Satire.”

      • c. No Harmful Violations: The parody may not violate any other section of this Policy, including prohibitions against harassment, defamation, hate speech, or political disinformation.

  • 6.3 Verification Process

    We may require:

    • Identity verification of the person giving consent.

    • Liveness checks to prevent fraud.

    • Documentation of licensing agreements.

    • Age verification for all participants.

    • All verification materials submitted to Sozee AI are handled securely and in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Adult Content

  • 7.1 Consensual Adult Content

    Adult content IS permitted ONLY when:

    • All participants are verified adults (18+).

    • Explicit, documented consent exists from all parties.

    • Content is properly labeled and age-gated.

    • It does not violate any other provisions of this Policy.

  • 7.2 Prohibited Adult Content

    Even with consent, the following is prohibited:

    • Content involving or appearing to involve minors.

    • Non-consensual or revenge content.

    • Content promoting illegal sexual acts.

    • Deepfaked pornography of real individuals without their explicit consent.

8. Disclosure and Transparency

  • 8.1 AI Disclosure Requirements

    All AI-generated or modified content must:

    • Include clear disclosure that it is synthetic/AI-generated.

    • Use watermarks or metadata where technically feasible.

    • Not be presented as authentic human-created content.

    • Include creator attribution where required.

  • 8.2 Commercial Use

    For commercial applications:

    • Disclose AI use in advertising and marketing.

    • Obtain commercial rights for all likenesses used.

    • Comply with FTC and advertising standards.

    • Respect union and guild agreements where applicable.

9. Platform-Specific Restrictions

  • 9.1 Social Media

    When sharing on social platforms:

    • Comply with platform-specific policies.

    • Use appropriate content warnings.

    • Respect community guidelines.

    • Do not circumvent platform safety features.

  • 9.2 Professional Use

    For business or professional use:

    • Ensure corporate authorization.

    • Maintain brand guidelines compliance.

    • Respect employment agreements.

    • Follow industry-specific regulations.

10. Enforcement and Reporting

  • 10.1 Violation Consequences

    Depending on severity, violations may result in:

    • Warning and content removal.

    • Temporary suspension of services.

    • Permanent account termination.

    • Legal action and law enforcement referral.

  • 10.2 Reporting Violations

    To report violations:

    • Include evidence, context, and identify specific Policy sections violated.

  • 10.3 Appeals Process

    Users may appeal enforcement actions by submitting a written appeal within 30 days with any additional context, evidence, or remedial actions taken. One appeal is permitted per enforcement action.

11. Content Moderation

  • 11.1 Automated Detection: We employ AI systems to detect non-consensual deepfakes, minor safety violations, copyright infringement, and other harmful content.

  • 11.2 Human Review: Flagged content undergoes human review for context, consent verification, and final determination.

  • 11.3 Proactive Measures: We maintain blocklists, identity protection databases, and real-time monitoring systems.

12. Legal Compliance

  • 12.1 Jurisdiction-Specific Laws: Users must comply with all local and national laws regarding deepfakes, privacy (GDPR, CCPA), intellectual property, and AI governance.

  • 12.2 Industry Standards: We align with Partnership on AI guidelines, the Content Authenticity Initiative, and other industry best practices.

13. Shared Responsibility

  • 13.1 User Responsibilities: Users are responsible for the content they create, obtaining consents, and complying with this Policy.

  • 13.2 Our Responsibilities: We commit to maintaining robust safety systems, investigating reports, providing clear guidance, and regularly updating this Policy.

14. Special Provisions

  • 14.1 Synthetic Resurrection: Creating content of deceased individuals requires estate or heir consent and compliance with posthumous rights laws.

  • 14.2 Political Content: Political content must clearly disclose AI generation and comply with all applicable election laws.

  • 14.3 Journalistic Use: Media organizations may use the Services for historical recreations, educational content, satire, or news reporting, provided it is clearly labeled and adheres to ethical standards.

15. Exceptions and Edge Cases

  • 15.1 Research and Education: Limited exceptions may be granted for academic research (with IRB approval), educational demonstrations, and security testing.

  • 15.2 Public Interest: Consideration may be given for verified whistleblowing, human rights documentation, and public safety warnings.

16. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Policy to address new technologies, regulatory changes, or emerging threats. Updates will be communicated via email, platform announcements, or our website.

18. Definitions

  • “Consent”: Free, informed, explicit agreement documented in writing or through platform verification.

  • “Deepfake”: AI-generated or manipulated media that realistically depicts individuals in situations that didn’t occur.

  • “Likeness”: Any recognizable representation of an individual, including face, voice, or other identifying features.

  • “Minor”: Any person under the age of 18.

  • “Non-consensual”: Created or distributed without explicit permission from the depicted individual.

  • “Public Figure”: An individual who has achieved a significant level of fame or notoriety, such as an elected official, politician, celebrity, or major business leader.

  • “Synthetic Media”: Any content generated or significantly modified using AI technology.

19. Acknowledgment

By using Sozee AI’s Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Acceptable Use Policy. You further acknowledge that failure to comply may result in immediate termination of service and potential legal consequences.
